You will see more authentic way of teaching just like how you will receive from a teacher in India.

Students will start to learn basic exercises and then move on to basic adavus. Once the student finished the basic adavus, they will be taught advanced adavus. Learning adavus may take from 1.5 years to 4 years based on their age, attendance(regularity), practice, attention, etc. Each student will take their own time to love the art and understand Bharathanatyam. Patience is the key to learn any art.

Once all adavus are completed, student will be taught with first set of natyams(dance items) to get ready for Salangai pooja. This may take 1 year to 2 years. After learning 5 to 6 natyams, they will honoured to wear dance salangai by taking the blessings from Lord Nataraja and Guru.

Second set of natyams which will have complex dance steps with long duration will be taught and this will take between 1.5 years to 2.5 years. Once the second set of natyams, they are ready to perform Arangetram which is an important milestone in Bharathanatyam. By learning both the sets, the student has now completed 1 maargam, which consists of all significant dance items.

If the student got time and interest, he/she can continue to learn Nattuvangam and next set of maargam to sharpen him/her skills.
